Prepare something different for the weekend a have a Taco Party at home! Learn how to cook and prepare easy Pinoy beef tacos at home with this recipe.

Jump to recipe.

I love Mexican Food. Did I tell you that? While I’m not sure if this recipe is truly Mexican or if Mexican lolas are turning over their graves. So let me call this a Filipino style beef tacos recipe so I don’t offend some sensibilities. Lol.

I can tell you that this beef taco recipe definitely cured my cravings. When the nearest Mexican restaurant is on the next town and the cost is not that friendly, making your own is the best solution. Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you shouldnt enjoy and give in to your cravings!

And me being me, of course I made sure that it truly is easy and done in under 30 minutes. Yes, mommies! Plus you have the kids assemble them. Make one Saturday or dinner a “Make your own tacos day”.

I classified this under Merienda since Tacos doesnt have rice and us Pinoy, no rice = not lunch or dinner haha! But we ate it for dinner and no one complained of hunger. (Probably since each one had 2 tacos!)

Quick and Easy Tacos Recipe

Prep Time : 10 min
Cook Time: 15 min

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kl ground beef
  • 1 cup Cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup Tomatoes sliced
  • 1 sachet taco seasoning mix prepared according to instruction
  • 1 box taco shells
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

Prepare all ingredients.
Cut the tomatoes. (Ps, I transformed this into a basic salsa by adding chopped onions, a tablespoon of calamansi, and a bit of salt). I think it was more awesome that way but stay away if you hate onions.)
Shred the cabbage. Shred the cheese. (Not in the picture but I used Eden Cheese.)
Brown beef. Remove excess fat. Add prepared Taco Seasoning. Let boil till sauce is reduced. Stir often. (YES! I said stir often because this one is definitely burnt!)
Heat the tacos. (I got the one that you can use without heating, but in case you got the ones that needed to be microwaved, do this step.)
Assemble the tacos. Layer the prepared ingredients. I put the cabbage first so the tacos will not get soggy. Spoon the meat mixture. Go crazy with the garnish!

Notes

If you’re sensitive to heat or have children who are, the Tacos Seasoning is already a bit spicy. Not too much but it has a kick. We love spicy so we still drizzled with some hot sauce. What I did, to make it a bit child friendly since I have a baby in the house is I prepared separate sauteed beef for the baby. Additional step but she enjoyed eating like the grownups.
