I was feeling a bit down yesterday and happened to pass by at Caution Hot, a newly opened restaurant in my neighborhood of Kapitolyo Pasig. I decided to drop by for some hot soup. I have always loved soup and noodles and I was looking forward to slurping some to ease my blah day. And I admit, and I was really curious about the social media love they’re getting.
I went with the daughter who was promised Ice cream. She was so happy waiting for it. Although there were repetitive lines and hardwood, the design was cozy enough because of this blackboard design on the wall which says Choose Your Burn. I went and checked if it was a real chalk design and it was. ???? The place was a bit small though.
Pardon me, this menu is blurry. But I really wanted to show the concept. Basically, you’ll have to choose your toppings, then your broth, and then the noodles. Finally, you will choose your level of burn. There’s 1st degree, 2nd degree, till 4th degree.
Since this is my first time, I chose the middle burn. I got Beef toppings, Szechuan broth, and Egg noodles. It was pretty satisfying. The broth was awesome and I was happy that I chose egg noodles versus wheat noodles. But I wished I was adventurous enough to get the 3rd level of burn because it was not as spicy as I was expecting. Next time Ill try the Assam Laksa which is fish based.
We also tried the Kuchay and Pork Dumplings. Pork Dumpling was not bad. I was a bit surprised that the Kuchay had some meat in it. They came with two types of dip and I was a bit confused about how to use them. One was chili and the other was vinegar. I fell in love with the vinegar sauce and I mixed it with the chili which resulted in a happy combination and a hit on my palate.
Arya enjoyed the shaved ice with ice cream and had fun trying to eat it with chopsticks.
How to get there:
- Commute Via Shaw Boulevard. Ride a jeepney going to Pasig, Get off at Capitol Commons. Go inside the Kapitolyo gate. If you want to walk, just walk straight from the gate then go left on East Capitol Street (to the direction of the Holy Family Church) at the Ramen Cool corner. Its about a couple of buildings down, right in front of Cab Cafe. Dont worry, you won’t get lost and perhaps enjoy discovering all the other little hole in the wall restaurants on that spot.
You can also take a tricycle near the subdivision entrance if you want.
