There are several different types of water purifiers that you can choose from, including carbon filters, UV light purifiers, and ionic exchange water filters.

But First, Water Purifier or Water Filter?

The array of choices online -either at Lazada or Shopee can be very confusing. When I first started my research, I was confused as well. As I learned, while both water purifiers and water filters can do the same thing – purify water – they’re used for different reasons. Water filters are typically used to remove contaminants, such as bacteria and viruses, that may be present in the water. Some water filters also remove small particulates like sediment.

By contrast, water purifiers are designed to de-toxify the water. They typically use ultraviolet light or heat to kill off microorganisms, parasites, and other unwanted creatures that could make people sick when consumed.

There are also hybrid devices that can perform both functions. For example, a filter can be used to remove particles while a purifier is used to de-toxify the water. Both types of devices come in different sizes and shapes depending on their intended use. High-end models are usually more expensive than standard units but provide better filtration and control over the process.

When you use a water purifier, you’re removing all of the impurities from your water supply, including chemicals, germs, and other substances that aren’t meant to be ingested. How Does a Water Purifier Work?

UV light is commonly used in combination with other purification methods, such as carbon filtering, to ensure the best possible water quality. UV light water purifiers are a great choice for people who want to drink water that’s free of any germs and bacteria. However, they can remove other impurities from water, such as minerals and chemicals.

– Ion Exchange Water Filters: Ion exchange water filters use ion exchange beads to remove impurities from water. The beads are usually made from minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, that are naturally occurring. The beads are charged with ions by placing them in running water. After that, they attract impurities, such as chlorine and lead, from the water. However, you may want to consider adding minerals back into your water supply using a mineral water filter or other water filtration method.

– Reverse Osmosis Water Purifiers: Reverse osmosis water purifiers work by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane is designed to trap impurities while allowing the water to pass through. After the impurities are trapped on the membrane, they’re flushed away so that they don’t get into the water supply. However, you should be aware that reverse osmosis water purifiers are capable of removing a lot of beneficial minerals from water. As a result, you may want to add minerals back into your water supply using a mineral water filter or other water filtration method.
