Level up your Okra with this Buttered Okra Recipe. Winner!
Today I am sharing Ms Elvie Pobre’s Buttered Okra. I love this recipe and this is the only Okra that I was able to convince my kids to eat. Ms Elvie is a homemaker who loves innovating food and making “out of this world recipes” with simple ingredients that you can buy from the market.
Out of This World Buttered Okra Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Okra cut up
- 1 cup Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn
- 1/2 cup green Bell Pepper
- 1/2 cup red Bell Pepper
- 1/2 cup Carrots
- 2-3 pcs Labuyo (birds eye chili)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 beef cube
- 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 200g Ground Pork
- ground pepper to taste
Instructions:
Saute garlic in melted butter over low heat until slightly browned. Add pork. Increase heat. Cook until tender. Add carrots, corn, bell pepper, Labuyo, beef cube, and a little water if it dried up. Add Okra. Cook for 2 mins. Add oyster sauce and ground pepper. Mix, turn off heat, serve.

PS: Love Okra but hate the sliminess? Here’s a quick tip! Add a bit of vinegar when cooking your okra so it doesn’t get as sticky. Enjoy!
